TerraMaster Rewards App Developers for the TOS Ecosystem

TerraMaster announces the official launch of the TOS Developer Platform and the App Publishing Rewards Program, two initiatives designed to encourage the development and distribution of applications within its NAS ecosystem.

Milano, Italy, 30th Oct 2026 – Through this project, the company is reaching out to independent developers, open-source project maintainers, homelab enthusiasts, and self-hosted solution advocates worldwide, offering them the opportunity to integrate their applications into the TOS environment, reach an international user base, and contribute to expanding the software offerings available on TerraMaster devices.

TerraMaster Rewards App Developers for the TOS Ecosystem

The new platform has been designed to simplify the process of adapting and distributing existing applications, eliminating the need for developers to build new software from scratch. Once applications have successfully passed the required checks and received approval, they can be published in the global TOS App Center, gaining greater visibility and new distribution opportunities within TerraMaster’s international NAS user community.

From Development to Publishing: New Tools to Simplify App Development

To make the entire development and publishing process more accessible, TerraMaster provides comprehensive technical documentation and ready-to-use packaging templates compatible with Debian (.deb) and Docker.

The platform also integrates several features designed to streamline developers’ workflows, including self-service application submission through an online interface, automated package validation, review status tracking, and API access.

The API functionality allows developers to integrate application submission and publishing procedures into their existing CI/CD workflows, making it easier to manage updates and new software releases.

Special attention has also been given to accessibility. Developers only need a valid email address to register on the platform, with no identity verification procedures or physical ownership of a TerraMaster NAS device required.

Development and testing activities can be carried out directly through an Ubuntu 22.04 virtual machine, allowing developers without TerraMaster hardware to work on their applications.

Developers Keep 100% of Donations

Among the opportunities offered by the new platform is the ability for developers to receive direct financial support from users who appreciate and benefit from their applications.

TerraMaster allows developers to include custom HTTPS donation links on individual application pages, establishing a direct connection between developers and the user community.

The company does not charge any commission on donations and does not participate in processing the related payments. As a result, the full amounts donated through these links go directly to developers, supporting independent projects and open-source initiatives.

The App Publishing Rewards Program Is Now Open

Alongside the launch of the platform, TerraMaster has introduced the App Publishing Rewards Program, an initiative offering financial incentives to developers who help expand the TOS App Center catalog.

The program provides rewards of up to $30 for each eligible application, provided that the application is published by April 30, 2027.

The reward structure is based on the number of qualifying applications. Developers can therefore increase their total earnings by publishing multiple applications that meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

The allocation of incentives will be governed by the program’s official rules. TerraMaster reserves the right to assess the eligibility of submitted applications and make final decisions regarding reward distribution.

TerraMaster Invites Developers to Help Expand the NAS App Ecosystem

Through these initiatives, TerraMaster aims to strengthen its software ecosystem by encouraging broader participation from the international developer community.

The invitation is particularly directed at open-source project maintainers, independent developers, and technology enthusiasts working in the homelab and self-hosted sectors, enabling them to bring their projects to TerraMaster NAS users.

The goal is to promote an increasingly rich, diverse, and accessible application environment, where developers can discover new opportunities to distribute their work while users benefit from a wider selection of software solutions.

The complete program rules and further details will be published on the official TerraMaster forum, which will serve as the main reference point for updates, participation guidelines, and future announcements regarding the initiative.

TerraMaster specializes in data storage products and solutions, including network-attached storage (NAS) and direct-attached storage (DAS). The company is committed to providing flexible data storage, management, and protection solutions for home users, professionals, and businesses.
